Something FUN!

Okay. It is summer time and for some of us, most of us, all of us, that means time for some fun in the sun! This weeks project is for you to capture something exceptionally fun, or transform something ordinary into something fun! The sky is the limit! Try to get some interesting perspective or to be narrative with your photo taking... they say a picture is worth a thousand words so let's try to make this one say, "FUN!" about nine hundred and ninety-nine more times! And yes, try to relax and have some fun fun fun with this project!

Do as I say...not as I do!

Haha! Here is a classic example of "do as I say, not as I do!" My name is Heidi Walter and I am in charge of the first few months of our photo blog expeditions...and here I am, one hour away from next weeks assignment, POSTING my self portrait! I don't feel too bad because as of right now, Christina and I are the only ones in our little self proclaimed photography ghost town!

I found myself searching for something to say about myself in my portrait. For one thing, I knew I was going to have to make Christina feel better about herself...because that is my role in our friendship! Haha! So I had to be as, or slightly more, silly fun crazy (...hairy! Inside joke). As you can see from the butterflies in my hair I have chosen to go SLIGHTLY MORE! Ah!

This photo should say, I am a day dreamer who loves to dress up and do things a little differently than the world would probably like.

P.S. No, I do not usually sit in front of a mirror and look at myself like that...I swear!

Just Me

Okay-I guess I'm first. I want you all to know you are lucky...I was VERY tempted to take a photo after a morning jog so you could all feel bad for Heidi and I because the heat is insane! But, I got out the camera today to make an attempt and actually kind of liked what I got. I have A LOT to learn about photography, and I'm hoping this year to do that, so please..if you have any advice, tips, etc...speak up! I love window lighting so that is what I went for. I like to think of myself as a simple person (at least I strive to be) so here I am- just me

Now the rest of you get to it so I don't feel like a loner when I look at the blog and only see me!

Project #1 : INTRODUCTION

Hey all you photo groupies! Welcome to our very first project. I thought that an introduction is needed and would be a fun and introspective way to start this 52 week adventure. The assignment is this...

Self portrait- something showing your face...so we can see who we're going to be spending the next year sharing, growing, and learning with.

P.S. Don't hand the camera off to someone else to get this picture. This is your picture, so you have to take it! A good introduction project...meet your camera. Learn your camera. Set the timer on your camera!
